Abstract

Discorhabdins A, B and C have been isolated as the major cytotoxic pigments of three different L.atruncufia spot@ species from New Zealand.. The lH- and laC!-I&R spectra of ihe mious%y reported discorhabdin C 1 have been assigned. The strracture6 of discorhabdins A 2 and B 3 have been established by spe+a.l comparisons (especiaIly NMR) 'with 1. The discorhabdins are strongly cytotoxic (P388 EDsa's 0.03-0.1 pg/ml) and antimicrobial.
