Abstract

A new unsaturated amino acid, L( -)5-methyl-2-amino4-hexenoic acid has been identified from the mushroom Leucocortinarius bulbiger by chromatography and electrophoresis on paper. It was isolated on an ion-exchange resin column. Its structure was determined and confirmed by synthesis.
