Carbazole alkaloids from Murraya koenigii

Abstract

From the stem bark extract of Murraya koenigii we isolated two carbazole alkaloids which have been shown to be 2-methoxy carbazole-3-methyl carboxylate (1) and 1-hydroxy-3-methyl carbazole (2) using spectroscopic and chemical evidence.
