Abstract

<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p><jats:boxed-text content-type="graphic" position="anchor"><jats:graphic xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" mimetype="image/gif" position="anchor" specific-use="enlarged-web-image" xlink:href="graphic/mcontent.gif"><jats:alt-text>magnified image</jats:alt-text></jats:graphic></jats:boxed-text><jats:p>Two new <jats:italic>Securinega</jats:italic> alkaloids, 2‐episecurinol A (<jats:bold>1</jats:bold>) and 8‐(diethylamino)‐2‐episecurinol A (<jats:bold>2</jats:bold>), together with the five known related analogues <jats:bold>3</jats:bold>–<jats:bold>7</jats:bold>, were isolated from <jats:italic>Securinega suffruticosa</jats:italic> (<jats:sc>Pall</jats:sc>.) <jats:sc>Rehd</jats:sc>. Their structures were determined by detailed analysis of 1D‐ and 2D‐NMR spectra and by comparison with the related model compounds.
