Abstract

Structures VIIa and VIIIa are developed for α- and β-obscurine, respectively. The transformation of α-obscurine (VIIa) into dihydrolycopodine (XII) is described. Since the structure and stereochemistry of the latter is known, the structure and stereochemistry of the obscurines is thereby established and is as shown in XIV. © 1962.
