A Chromatographie Comparison of Strychnos dolichothyrsa and Strychnos urceolata

Abstract

The standard of the two botanically related species Strychnos dolichothyrsa and S. urceolata were by means of TLC and HPLC found to have a qualitatively similar alkaloid content.The presence of bisnor-dihydrotoxiferine and bisnor-C-alkaloid H in S. urceolata could be confirmed with TLC, HPLC, UV and MS, caracurine V with TLC and HPLC.
