From the combined stem bark and root extracts of Clausena anisata we isolated two new alkaloids, 1-methyl-3,4-dimethoxy-2-quinolone and 3-formyl-1-hydroxycarbazole, and four known alkaloids identified as heptaphylline, girinimbine, ekeberginine and 3-methylcarbazole. The structure of the new alkaloids were assigned on the basis of 1H and 13CNMR evidence. © 1989.
