Abstract

A new natural product, stawamycin (1), has been isolated from the liquid cultures of Streptomyces sp. as an inhibitor against the Epstein-Barr virus BZLFI transcription factor. The novel chemical structure was established by a combination of spectroscopic data analysis and chemical derivatization.
