Abstract

The antifungal antibiotics, neopetins A(l), B(2) and C(3), were found to be cyclic lipopeptides containing unusual amino acids, their structures being elucidated on the basis of chemical and spectroscopic evidence. They inhibited mannoprotein and /M,3-glucan synthetases from Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The structure-biological activity relationship is discussed.
