<jats:p> Erysotrine, erythrartine, hypaphorine, and two novel alkaloids, erysotrine-N-oxide and erythrartine-N-oxide, were isolated from the flowers of Erythrina mulungu. The N-oxide structures were determined by spectroscopic analysis (mass, <jats:sup>1</jats:sup>H, and <jats:sup>13</jats:sup>C nmr) and by partial synthesis.
