Abstract

<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title> <jats:p>The major alkaloid of the leaves and fruits of Fagraea fragrans Roxb. has been isolated and shown to be 4-(2-hydroxyethyl)-5-vinyl nicotinic acid lactone identical with gentiamine.
