Abstract

The biosynthetic origin of the dichloroimine carbon in the stylotellanes A and B, (1) and (2), is determined by means of sodium [¹⁴C] cyanide. Sodium [¹⁴C] thiocyanate is also involved in their biosynthesis. A mechanistic scheme is presented for the formation of these biosynthetic metabolites.
