<jats:p><jats:bold>New Acids in the East Indian Sandalwood Oil</jats:bold><jats:p>Three new terpenoic acids, dihydro‐α‐norcurcumenic acid (<jats:bold>2</jats:bold>), α‐bergamotenic acid (<jats:bold>3</jats:bold>), and dihydro‐α‐santalic acid (<jats:bold>4</jats:bold>), could be identified by means of GC‐MS and GC‐FTIR techniques as genuine constituents of the East Indian sandalwood oil. The former postulated γ‐santalic acid (<jats:bold>1</jats:bold>) could not be detected. Also a series of pyrolytic experiments did not lead to its formation.
