Two new and two known imidazole alkaloids, N1-demethyl cynometrine, N1-demethyl cynodine, cynometrine and cynodine, respectively, have been isolated from the stem bark and seed of Cynometra hankei. The structures of the new alkaloids were elucidated by chemical evidence and spectral data. No alkaloids could be detected in C. mannei stem bark. © 1981.
