Abstract

Three new cytotoxic glycollpids, erylusamine TA (8), erylusine (9) and erylusidine (10) have been isolated from a Red Sea sponge tentatively identified as Erylus cf. lendenfeidi. The ~ture of the three compounds was determined by interpretation of 2D NMR and FABMS data as trisaccharidas of long-chain oxodihydroxyfatty acid amides formed with N,N-dimethyl-l,5-pentanediamine to yield 8 with ¢o-N,N-dimethylaminobutyl-N-methyl-l,3 -propanedlamine to yield 9 and with 4-(aminobutyl) gusnidine to yield 10 (R 3--CX)C~ 2(~-I(GH,)2).
