Abstract
A novel opine, mikimopine, was isolated from hairy roots of tobacco induced by Agrobacterium rhizogenes NIAES1724, and its structure determined as (4R,7S)-4-(2-carboxylethyl)-4,5,6,7-tetrahydroimidazo[4,5-c]pyridine-4,6-dicarboxylic acid.
