Highly Conjugated Ergostane‐Type Steroids and Aranotin‐Type Diketopiperazines from the Fungus Aspergillus terreus BCC 4651

Abstract

<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p>Two new ergostane derivatives, 12<jats:italic>β</jats:italic>,15<jats:italic>α</jats:italic>,25,26‐tetrahydroxyergosta‐4,6,8(14),22‐tetraen‐3‐one (<jats:bold>1</jats:bold>) and 12<jats:italic>β</jats:italic>,15<jats:italic>α</jats:italic>,25,28‐tetrahydroxyergosta‐4,6,8(14),22‐tetraen‐3‐one (<jats:bold>2</jats:bold>), and a new aranotin‐type diketopiperazine, bisdethiobis(methylsulfanyl)apoaranotin (<jats:bold>3</jats:bold>), were isolated from the fungus <jats:italic>Aspergillus terreus</jats:italic> BCC 4651. The structures of the new compounds were elucidated by means of NMR spectroscopic and MS analyses.
