Abstract

Oscillaginin A, a novel chlorine-containing linear tetrapeptide, was isolated from the freshwater toxic cyanobacterium, Oscillatoria agardhii. The structure was elucidated by chemical degradation and 2D NMR analyses. Oscillaginin B, a dechlorinated derivative of oscillaginin A, was also isolated from the same cells.
