<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p>Three new compounds have been isolated from the whole plant of <jats:italic>Monochoria vaginalis</jats:italic> and characterized as: (2<jats:italic>S</jats:italic>,3<jats:italic>R</jats:italic>,4<jats:italic>E</jats:italic>,8<jats:italic>E</jats:italic>,2′<jats:italic>R</jats:italic>)‐1‐<jats:italic>O</jats:italic>‐(β‐<jats:sc>D</jats:sc>‐glucopyranosyl)‐<jats:italic>N</jats:italic>‐(2′‐hydroxyicosanoyl)‐4,8‐sphingadienine, (2<jats:italic>S</jats:italic>,3<jats:italic>R</jats:italic>,4<jats:italic>E</jats:italic>,8<jats:italic>E</jats:italic>,2′<jats:italic>R</jats:italic>)‐1‐<jats:italic>O</jats:italic>‐(β‐<jats:sc>D</jats:sc>‐glucopyranosyl)‐<jats:italic>N</jats:italic>‐(2′‐hydroxyoctadecanoyl)‐4,8‐sphingadienine and 7‐oxostigmasteryl‐3‐<jats:italic>O</jats:italic>‐(6′‐hexadecanoyl)‐β‐<jats:sc>D</jats:sc>‐glucopyranoside. Their structures were established by spectral and chemical evidence.
