Abstract

Investigation of two species of Esenbeckia, E. ulmawillia and E. grandiflora, has led to the isolation and identification of kokusaginine, maculine, maculosidine, flindersiamine, xanthotoxin, pimpinellin, 4-methoxy-1-methylquinolin-2-o ne, two new 2-arylquinolin-4-one alkaloids and two 3-(1',1'-dimethylallyl)dihydrofurocoumarins derivatives. Structures of all compounds were elucidated by spectroscopic methods.
