Abstract

A reinvestigation of the aerial parts of Pyrethrum santolinoides afforded, in addition to known compounds, four new sesquiterpene lactones, three germacranolides and an eudesmanolide. The structures were elucidated by high field 1H NMR techniques. From Leuceria species in addition to known, widespread compounds, four new onoseriolide derivatives and a known tetraynene together with an isomeric derivative, were isolated. The structures were elucidated by high field NMR techniques. The chemotaxonomy is discussed briefly.
