Abstract

Study of a somewhat polar fraction of the extract of Polyalthia viridis bark furnished the new clerodane 3,12E-kolavadien-15-oic acid-16-al, a bis-clerodane imide and several known clerodane derivatives. The structure assigned to polyalthialdoic acid from P. longifolia is discussed.
