Abstract

Corydalis cheilantheifolia Hemsl. was found to contain the following alkaloids,—l-canadine, stylopine, l-corypalmine, l-cheilanthifoline, protopine, and allocryptopine. It is pointed out that the presence of these alkaloids is evidence of the close relation of this plant to C. ophiocarpa. Incidently, further proof for the constitution of ophiocarpine, previously given, has been obtained by oxidation to a corydaldine.
