Abstract

<jats:p><jats:bold>Alkaloids from <jats:italic>Veratrum patulum</jats:italic>, I. – Isolation and Structure Elucidation of New Steroid Alkaloid Glycosides</jats:bold><jats:ext-link xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" xlink:href="#note1" /><jats:fn><jats:p>Herrn Professor Dr. <jats:italic>F. Zymalkowski</jats:italic> zum 80. Geburtstag gewidmet.</jats:fn> <jats:p>Beside the known veratrosine (<jats:bold>1</jats:bold>), two new steroid alkaloid glucosides, 23‐<jats:italic>O</jats:italic>‐β‐<jats:sc>D</jats:sc>‐glucopyranosyl‐20‐isoveratramine (<jats:bold>2</jats:bold>) and (22<jats:italic>S</jats:italic>,23<jats:italic>R</jats:italic>,25<jats:italic>S</jats:italic>)‐23‐<jats:italic>O</jats:italic>‐β‐<jats:sc>D</jats:sc>‐glucopyranosyl‐5,11,13‐veratratrienine‐3β,23‐diol (<jats:bold>3</jats:bold>), were isolated from the roots of <jats:italic>Veratrum patulum</jats:italic> Loes. fil. (Liliaceae) and characterized by spectroscopic methods.
