Abstract

The results of an investigation of new alkaloids from plants of the Oxytropis genus are generalized, the most common properties of alkaloids of the 2(β)-phenylethylamine series and possible routes for their biosynthetic formation are discussed, and material is presented on the structural study of the new alkaloid trichophysine and on the synthesis of (±)-oxytryphine and of trichophysine.
