Abstract

Dimerization of tabersonine by a crude enzyme preparation from Catharanthus roseus led to the novel 3-hydroxyvoafrines A and B which were reduced enzymatically or chemically to the voafrines A and B, recently isolated a trace amounts from cell cultures of Voacanga africana.
