Two new tropane alkaloids schizanthine Y and schizanthine Z have been isolated from the methanol extract of the leaves of Schizantus porrigens, in addition to the known compounds (-)-6β-angeloy-loxytropan-3α-ol and (-)-3α-senecioyloxytropan-6β-ol. Structures for the new compounds are proposed on the basis of spectroscopic evidence.
