Abstract

Metaphanine was shown to be an alkaloid derived from a new ring system ‘‘hasu-banan.” Degradative and spectroscopic evidence established metaphanine as I. The absolute configuration of this alkaloid was established as shown by the perspective formula (XXI). © 1965, The Pharmaceutical Society of Japan. All rights reserved.
