Together with karakoline, dihydrogadesine and 14-acetyldihydrogadesine, the new alkaloids 14-benzoylgadesine and 14-benzoyldihydrogadesine were isolated from Delphinium cardiopetalum. The new bases gadeline and 14-acetylgadesine were also isolated from Delphinium pentagynum. The structures of the new compounds were determined with the aid of 1H and 13C-nmr spectroscopy and chemical correlation to known alkaloids. The 13C-nmr chemical shifts for gadesine, dihydrogadesine and 14-acetyldihydrogadesine are also presented. © 1986.
