A series of (pheny1thio)phenylamines and related compounds was prepared as potential antiinflammatory agents. Among them, N-[ (diethylamino)acetyll-4-[(4-chlorophenyl)thio]phenylamine and N- [(diethylamino)acetyl]-2-[(4 chlorophenyl)thio]phenylamine showed good antiinflammatory activity in the carrageenin assay on rats.
