During investigations on the constituents of the trunk bark of A. vhombeosignatum MARKGRAF, among several others, two new natural indole alkaloids were isolated, limaspermidine (or 21 hydroxy-aspidospermidine) (Ia) and 15, 16, 17 trimethoxy-21-oxoaspidoalbidine (III b). Both of them have previously been reported as synthetic products.
