Abstract

Besides one morphinandienone, two tetrahydroprotoberberines, and five aporphines, Duguetia obovata (Annonaceae) has furnished eight new aporphines, (-)-N-formylxylopine (6), (-)-N-methylbuxifoline (12), (- )-N-formylbuxifoline (13), oxobuxifoline (15), (-)-N-methylcalycinine (21), (-)-duguevanine (23), (-)-N-formylduguevanine (24), and (-)-N-methylduguevanine (25). The interesting features are metadisubstitution on the D-ring for the main alkaloids and presence of natural N-formyl aporphines. Chemotaxonomic and biogenetic aspects are discussed.
