Six alkaloids were found in a methanol extract of the rhizomes of Stephania buncroftii: (-)-tetrahydropalmatine, (-)-stephanine, (-)-crebanine, ayuthianine, (+)-sebiferine and (+)-stepharine. Complete assignment of the H-1 and C-13 NMR spectra is reported for several of these compounds for the first time.
