Abstract

Structures are proposed for rubrenolide, (2S,4R)-2-[2'S)-2',3'-dihydroxypropyl-4-(dec-9'-env)-y-lac-1 tone, and rubrynolide, (2S,4R)-2-[(2'S)-2',3'-dihydroxypropyl]-4-(dec-9''-ynyl)-y-lactone, isolated from Nectandra rubra (Lauraceae).
