This is the first chemical investigation of G. burdurensis. The total alkaloid content of the aerial parts of this plant was found to be 0.48% by using titrimetric method (2). Eight alkaloids were isolated by preparative TLC and identified on the basis of their physical and spectral data. N-Methylcytisine isolated from the other Turkish Genista species by us was not observed in G. burdurensis, and the dipiperidine alkaloid, N-methylammodendrine (3, 4) was obtained for the first time from the genus Genista.
