Abstract

Dolastatin C (1), a new depsipeptide exhibiting weak cytotoxicity, has been isolated from the Japanese sea hare Dolabella auricularia. The structure of 1 was elucidated by spectroscopic analysis and chemical degradation. The synthesis of 1 was carried out to confirm the structure unambiguously.
