Abstract

Re-investigation of leaves and twigs from Tabernaemontana glandulosa yielded ii indole alkaloids, besides six ubiquitous phenylpropanoids and pentacyclic triterpenes. Structures were determined by spectroscopic methods partly in combination with chemical modifications. Difforlemenitine, 19-epi-difforlemenitine and 10,12-dimethoxynareline represent new indole alkaloids. Difforlemenine and the bisindole alkaloid, conophylline, were also among the isolated alkaloids; our results require a structural revision for difforlemenine.
