The leaf oils of two species of Acradenia were found to vary with the location of the collection. A. euodigofonnis (F.Muell.) leaf gave 0.02-0.20%(w/w) of an essential oil rich in either monoterpenes (a-pinene (16%), limonene (8%) and p-cymene (13%)) or sesquiterpenes [aromadendrene (11-22%), caryophyllene oxide (4-13%), globulol(11-13%) and spathulenol(12-18%)]. A. frankliniae Kippist leaf gave 1.2-3.0% (w/w) oil containing either xanthoxylin (90%) or monoterpenes a-pinene (19-21%), camphene (13-14%), P-pinene (24-25%) and (E)-P-ocimene (8-10%) as major components.
