Abstract

Androcymbium palaestinum of Jordanian origin has yielded the new homoaporphines (+)-kreysigine [2], (+)-androcine [3], (+)-androcimine [4], (+)-androbine [5], (+)-nor-O-methylkreysigine [6], and (+)-norandrobine [7]. The latter two alkaloids are the first norhomoaporphines to be characterized. (+)-O-methylkreysigine [1] exists preferentially in conformation 1a. Hofmann degradation of (+)-androbine [5] methiodide provided androbinemethine [9], which is strongly dextrorotatory.
