Abstract

Thirteen new 5-alkylpyrrole-2-carboxaldehydes 1,3,5,6, 7,8,9, 10, 11,12,13,14 and 15 were isolated from the sponges Mycale microsigmatosa and Desmapsamma anchorata. Their structures were assigned by analysis of the spectroscopic data. The nitrile 1 showed moderate activity against Leishmania mexicana.
