Four novel coumarins were isolated from the aerial parts of Phebalium elatius subsp. beckleri. These compounds were all based on 8-(1'ξ-hydroxy-2'-oxo-3'-methylbut-3'-enyl)-6,7-dimethoxycoumarin (trivial name 6-methoxydehydromurranganon) and were characterised as the acetate, 2-methylpropanoate, 3-methylbutanoate and propanoate esters, primarily on the basis of NMR and mass spectral data. In addition a trace amount of 6-methoxymurranganon acetate was detected.
