The volatile leaf oils of Eucalyptus indurata Brooker & Hopper, E. kessellii Maiden & Blakely, E. goniantha Turcz. subsp. goniantha, E. semiglobosa (Brooker) L. A. S. Johnson & K. D. Hill, E. ornata Crisp, E. falcata Turcz., E. decipiens Endl., E. micranthera F. Muell. ex. Benth., E. angustissima F. Muell., E. cneorifolia DC., E. argyphea L. A. S. Johnson & K. D. Hill, E. balanopelex L. A. S. Johnson & K. D. Hill, E. rigidula Maiden, E. foecunda Schauer, E. latens Brooker, E. leptophylla F. Muell. ex. Miq., E. kumarlensis Brooker, E. perangusta Brooker, E. formanii Gardner, E. uncinata Turcz., E. albida Maiden & Blakely and E. dissimulata Brooker, isolated by vacuum distillation, were analysed by GC and by GC±MS. Many species contained a-pinene (0±43.5%), b-pinene (0±5.3%), 1,8-cineole (0.3±66.4%), p-cymene (0.2±22.6%), pinocarvone (0±8.4%), b-caryophyllene (0±11.6%), aromadendrene (0±19.4%), trans-pinocarveol (0.2±28.6%) and bicyclogermacrene (0±30.3%) as principal leaf oil components. All species contained torquatone (0.09±6.2%); lateriticone (1-isovaleryl-4-methoxy-3,5,5-trimethylcyclohex-3 en-2,6-dione) (0.1±0.5%) was found in E. indurata, E. goniantha and E. perangusta.
