A guaianolide and a germacranolide from Achillea santolina

Abstract

An extract of whole plants ofAchillea santolina afforded a new guaianolide and a new germacranolide in addition to two known guaianolides and three flavonoids. Structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods, and the structure of the germacranolide was confirmed by a single crystal X-ray analysis.
