Abstract

A new quinicine-type alkaloid, N-methylquinicinol, has been isolated from the bark of Guettarda noumeana, together with the known alkaloids, cupreine, dihydrocupreine and N-methyldihydroquinicinol. Complete NMR chemical shift assignments based on 2D experiments are reported for all the alkaloids. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
