<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p>From saprophytic cultures of a strain of <jats:italic>Claviceps paspali Stevens et Hall</jats:italic>, which produces as main metabolite 6‐methyl‐Δ<jats:sup>8,9</jats:sup>‐ergolen‐8‐carboxylic acid, three new alkaloids of the clavine type were isolated. One is a dihydro derivative of setoclavine, the two others, which are named paspaclavine and paliclavine, represent new structural types.
