Stationary cultivation of clavicepspurpurea D-3-18 on a liquid medium enriched with D,L-isoleucine yielded sclerotial mycelium containing, apart from a- and P-ergokryptine (1,2) and ergocornine, three new alkaloids: a 5'-epimer of B-ergokryptine (3), P-ergokryptam (6), and a lactam alkaloid from a new group of ergopeptam alkaloids containing L-isoleucine as the first amino acid, i.e., N[N(d-lysergyl)-L-isleucyl]-L-isoleucyl-D-proline lactam (5). For this substance the name P,P-ergoannam is proposed.
