Abstract

<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p>Twenty‐eight compounds including seven alkaloids, (+)‐3‐chloro‐<jats:italic>N</jats:italic>‐formylnornantenine (<jats:bold>1</jats:bold>), (<jats:italic>+)‐N‐</jats:italic>formylnornantenine (<jats:bold>2</jats:bold>), (+)‐boldine (<jats:bold>3</jats:bold>), (+)‐norboldine (<jats:bold>4</jats:bold>), (‐)‐norboldine (<jats:bold>5</jats:bold>), lycicamine (<jats:bold>6</jats:bold>), and tetrahydroberberine (<jats:bold>7</jats:bold>); four flavonoids, kaempferol (<jats:bold>8</jats:bold>), kaempferol‐3‐<jats:italic>O</jats:italic>‐arabinoside (<jats:bold>9</jats:bold>), quercetin (<jats:bold>10</jats:bold>), and quercetin‐3‐<jats:italic>O</jats:italic>‐rhamnoside (<jats:bold>11</jats:bold>); one butanolide, akolactone A (<jats:bold>12</jats:bold>); one <jats:italic>p</jats:italic>‐quinone, 2,6‐dimethoxy‐<jats:italic>p</jats:italic>‐quinone (<jats:bold>13</jats:bold>); one cyclohex‐2‐en‐1‐one, blumenol A (<jats:bold>14</jats:bold>); six benzenoids, methylparaben (<jats:bold>15</jats:bold>), <jats:italic>p‐</jats:italic>hydroxybenzoic acid (<jats:bold>16</jats:bold>), vanillic acid (<jats:bold>17</jats:bold>), syringic acid (<jats:bold>18</jats:bold>), 3,4,5‐trimethoxybenzoic acid (<jats:bold>19</jats:bold>), and 3‐(3,4‐dihydroxyphenyl) propionic acid (<jats:bold>20</jats:bold>); one diterpene, phytol (<jats:bold>21</jats:bold>); one triterpene, squalene (<jats:bold>22</jats:bold>); six steroids, (3‐sitosterol (<jats:bold>23</jats:bold>), β‐sitostenone (<jats:bold>24</jats:bold>), stigmasta‐4,22‐dien‐3‐one (<jats:bold>25</jats:bold>), 6β‐hydroxy‐β‐sitostenone (<jats:bold>26</jats:bold>), 6β‐hydroxystigmasterone (<jats:bold>27</jats:bold>), and β‐sitosteryl‐D‐glucoside (<jats:bold>28</jats:bold>) were isolated from the aerial part of <jats:italic>Lindera glauca</jats:italic>. These compounds were characterized and identified by physical and spectral method. All compounds were isolated for the first time from this plant. Among them, (+)‐3‐chloro‐<jats:italic>N</jats:italic>‐formylnornantenine (<jats:bold>1</jats:bold>) is a new one.
