The roots of Brocchio cinerea afforded, in addition to known spiroketalenolether polyynes and sesquiterpenecoumarin ethers, two new isofraxidin-derived sesquiterpene ethers as well as the new 8-farnesylscopoletin. The structures of the new compounds were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic evidence.. The chemotaxonomic significance of sesquiterpene-coumarin ether and spiroketalenolether accumulation within the tribe Anthemideae is discussed.
