Abstract

The known alkaloid tuguaconitine and a new base, which has been called akiramine, have been isolated from the epigeal part Aconitum kirinense Nakai. The structure of akiramine as 4 beta-acetoxy-1 alpha,8 beta-dihydroxy-6 beta,14 alpha,16 beta-trimethoxy-N-ethylaconitine has been established by a study of its spectral characteristics.
