From a fraction of the alkaloids of Veratrum lobelianum Bernh. obtained by treating an acetic acid solution of combined alkaloids with diethyl ether, five alkaloids were isolated using cellulose column chromatography with solvent systems of chloroform and chloroform-benzene (1:1) saturated with formamide, showing Rf values of 0.22 (system 1), 0.38, 0.40, 0.7, and 0.73 (system 2). Chromatographic analysis was performed on "M" type paper from the Volodarskii Leningrad Paper Mill, impregnated with a formamide-ethanol (1:2) solution. Each alkaloid was characterized by molecular formula, specific rotation, melting point (for some), and UV spectrum. The UV spectral characteristics and Rf values of the isolated compounds were consistent with those of known alkaloids (veramarine, veralkamine, veralinine, verazine, veramine) provided by J. Tomko, and the analytical results agreed with literature data.
